President Dr Mohamed Muizzu commenced a tour of Huvadhoo Atoll on Tuesday morning, visiting nine islands across both South and North Huvadhoo Atolls. This trip forms part of his 2024 pledge to engage with local councils and address community needs.

During his visit to South Huvadhoo Atoll, the President will travel to Hoan’deddhoo, Nadellaa, Vaadhoo, Fiyoari, and Rathafandhoo. In North Huvadhoo Atoll, he is scheduled to visit Kan’duhulhudhoo, Nilandhoo, Maamendhoo, and Dhevvadhoo.

A highlight of the tour will be the inauguration of a new water and sanitation network service in Hoan’deddhoo, a significant step towards improving the quality of life for its residents. The President will also engage with citizens, addressing their developmental concerns and aspirations. Meetings with Maamendhoo and Dhevvadhoo Councils are planned to gain deeper insights into the challenges faced by these communities.

Accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials, President Dr Muizzu aims to strengthen ties with local communities and ensure their developmental needs are prioritised. The tour is expected to conclude on Thursday.
