Ilm Institute has prepared to launch the first course in Zakat studies in the Maldives.
The Maldives Qualification Authority has approved the Diploma in Zakat Management Science course offered by Ilm Institute for Islamic Studies.
Ilm Institute said today that the one-year diploma program, taught in Dhivehi, will be instructed by Maldivian scholars.
The program will cover topics including Aqeedah and Islamic Ethics, general principles of Zakat science, Shariah rulings on wealth distribution in Zakat and related studies, the Maldivian Zakat system, management of modern Zakat institutions, and the role of Zakat in social and economic development.
Additionally, the course will include key aspects of calculating wealth Zakat, Islamic finance, and modern Shariah issues in wealth Zakat.
Ilm Institute stated that this course will be very important for those working in the field of Islamic economics and that they will soon announce the enrollment for the program. The institute said they will announce the start date of the course after opening it for enrollment.
