The national airline of the Maldives, Maldivian, has brought its first wide-body aircraft to the country today.

Bringing wide-body aircraft to expand Maldivian Airline's services was a presidential pledge of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Maldivian Airline's first wide-body aircraft departed from Singapore and arrived in the Maldives this evening. The flight captains were Captain Hunain and Captain Maumoon. The First Officer was Captain Mohamed Thollath Anwar, who has 21 years of experience in the aviation field.

Before landing at Velana International Airport, an air show was held with the aircraft, and upon landing at VIA, it was given a water salute.

The Airbus A-330 brought by Maldivian today has a capacity of 260 passengers. The aircraft, which includes Business, Premium Economy, and Economy class seats, can carry 10 tons of cargo. With the Airbus A-330, Maldivian will operate direct flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu in China.
