Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel, departed yesterday for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on an official visit at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE.
The visit aims to strengthen the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and the UAE. Dr Khaleel is scheduled to hold high-level discussions with Sheikh Abdullah to review existing cooperation and explore new avenues for collaboration. These discussions will focus on fostering partnerships in areas of mutual interest and advancing shared goals for development and innovation.
In addition to his meeting with Sheikh Abdullah, Minister Dr Khaleel will engage with other senior UAE officials to discuss potential joint initiatives and deepen ties between the two nations.
The Minister is accompanied on this visit by Abdullah Hameed, Ambassador-at-Large, and Mariyam Reesha, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
