Five people have been arrested in connection with a case where a person was attacked and injured with a sharp object in Th. Thimarafushi.

The police said today that those arrested in connection with the case are Ahmed Ameen (36) of Jahamuguri, Th. Thimarafushi; Ahmed Shahudee (38) of Salva, Th. Thimarafushi; Mohamed Rauf (54) of V. Vavath, K. Male'; Abdullah Ashraf (39) of Gulbakavila, Th. Thimarafushi; and Aas Ibrahim (32) of Hiri, Th. Thimarafushi.

The police said that when presented to court for remand hearings, Abdullah Ashraf, Aas Ibrahim, and Mohamed Rauf were remanded for 10 days, Ahmed Ameen for 7 days, and Ahmed Shahudee for 5 days.

The police stated that the five individuals were arrested under court orders.

A police media official told "One" yesterday that a case of five people entering a house in Thimarafushi and assaulting someone was reported at 13:27 yesterday.

He said it was a conflict between two groups and that the injured person was treated and released.

The police have not yet provided details on the reason for the assault or any further information.

The police are continuing to investigate the case.
