Two Indian nationals have been arrested and remanded in police custody for 30 days in connection with a drug-related case in the Maldives.

The suspects have been identified as Saddam Hussain, 30, and MD Tamanna, 31. According to court documents, the suspected drugs were found in the luggage carried by Tamanna. However, she claimed the items were not hers and had been handed over to her by another individual.

Saddam Hussain, who was reportedly present to collect the items, claimed they were intended for his personal use.

Given the seriousness of the charges, the court granted a 30-day remand in police custody for both individuals to facilitate further investigation.
