Drinking water has been provided to the residents of Gaza with aid donated by the Maldives Zakat House.
The Maldives Zakat Fund donated USD 100,000 to provide clean drinking water to the people of Gaza. This money was handed over to the Qatar Red Crescent Society. An agreement for this was signed between the Islamic Ministry and Qatar Red Crescent last November.
This is the first time the Zakat Fund has provided assistance to a foreign entity.
The Qatar Red Crescent has initiated a project to provide clean drinking water to Gaza residents with the aid sent by the Maldives Zakat Fund.
As part of this project, 6,000 water cases have been distributed to patients receiving treatment at Al-Shifa and Al-Hayat hospitals in Gaza. The Qatar Red Crescent also stated that 50,000 water cases will be distributed to 60,000 people who are in most need.
