Five laptops have been stolen from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), which is currently embroiled in major allegations of corruption involving land and flat allocations.

The police said today that HDC reported the incident today. The laptops were stolen from HDC's project office located in Farukolhufushi, which is now part of Hulhumale Phase 2. They also mentioned that the suspect in this case was already in custody for a drug-related matter at the time of the theft.

"[The laptops] haven't been found yet. The search is ongoing. The suspect is cooperating with the police," said police spokesperson Ahmed Shifan.

The police also stated that they are further investigating the case.
