Three expatriates working illegally in the Hiyaa Tower in Hulhumale have been taken into custody by Immigration.

Immigration stated today that they conducted a raid operation yesterday specifically targeting businesses operating in the Hiyaa flats in Hulhumale Phase 2.

During these operations, they inspected eight shops, four cafes/restaurants/bakeries, and one salon. From these, three individuals working illegally in two of the places were taken into Immigration custody.

Immigration is carrying out these inspections in collaboration with the Police, Home Ministry, Health Protection Agency, and Economic Ministry.

So far, more than 5,000 people have been deported through the ongoing operation to apprehend illegal expatriates.
