Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has won two important awards at the "South Asian Business Excellence Awards 2024," one of the largest award ceremonies dedicated to businesses in the South Asian region.

At the ceremony held last Friday in New Delhi, India, MPL received the "Innovative Learning and Organizational Development Practice" award and the "Innovative Business Transformation" award. This is the first time MPL has received the "Innovative Business Transformation" award.

MPL said that they received the "Innovative Learning and Organizational Development Award" due to their efforts in providing education and training to employees. They mentioned that through their Learning and Development Department, they conduct numerous courses and training programs every year, as well as apprenticeship and internship programs.

According to MPL, they received the "Innovative Business Transformation" award for their numerous efforts over the past year to expand their business and increase revenue. This includes introducing sea-to-air cargo service as a completely new sector in the Maldives and launching the Northern Maritime Service.

This year's South Asian Business Excellence Awards presented awards in 17 different categories.
