The passports of four individuals who were members of the Flat Committee, formed to determine the recipients of flats under the Binveriya and Gedhoruverin schemes of the previous government's housing program, have been withheld.
A media official from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) told "One" that the passports withheld belong to the committee's chairman and State Minister of Planning Ministry, Akram Kamaluddin, former Senior Executive Director of the Housing Ministry, Mohamed Arif, former Director General of the Housing Ministry, Ahmed Vishan Naseem, and former Senior Executive Director of the Housing Ministry, Lirugam Waheed.
The media official also stated that the passports of these four individuals were withheld at the request of the ACC in connection with the case of land allocation to certain individuals against the rules of the "Binveriya" scheme.
In relation to this case, the passports of 20 individuals, including Housing Development Corporation (HDC)'s Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and his brother, MWSC's Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, have also been withheld.
