Police stated tonight that no allegations have been made so far against HDC's Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed in the case of alleged land allocation to individuals not included in the Binveriya scheme.
In a press conference held tonight to provide information on the investigation that began after documents related to the case started circulating on social media, the head of the Central Investigation Command, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdullah Shareef said that six people have been questioned so far as part of the investigation.
However, he stated that no allegations have been made against Fazul or anyone else at this point.
He also mentioned that they have not requested to withhold anyone's passport in connection with the case.
Abdullah Shareef said that based on their investigation so far, it has been noted that more than one person has applied for permission to build boundary walls for three plots in Hulhumale. He added that all these individuals are people who do not meet the criteria under the Binveriya scheme and have not even applied to participate in the scheme.
