Mohamed Fazeel Rasheed, the Deputy Managing Director of the Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC), has been suspended amidst allegations of creating an unverified document.

Abdul Matheen Mohamed, the Managing Director of MWSC, confirmed the suspension to One.

Matheen said, Fazeel has been removed from all responsibilities with effect from today and suspended from leaving office in order to fully support the ongoing investigation of Police regarding Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

The investigation is linked to the HDC, headed by Fazeel’s brother, Ibrahim Fazul.

Authorities are continuing their inquiries into the matter, with MWSC expressing its full cooperation with the Maldives Police Service. The incident underscores the importance of transparency and accountability within public organisations.
