Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef launched the Global Development Project Pool (GDPP) Information Management System at the closing ceremony of the Third China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Development Cooperation in Kunming, China.
The GDPP system aims to streamline and enhance the management of development projects, fostering greater collaboration among nations in the Indian Ocean region and beyond. Its launch marks a significant step towards improving global cooperation in sustainable development and blue economy initiatives.
During the event, the Vice President also unveiled the plaque for the newly established China-Indian Ocean Region Centre for Maritime Cooperation and Training. This centre is expected to play a key role in advancing maritime development and cooperation across the region.
The launch was attended by notable dignitaries, including Reginald Farley, President of the Senate of Barbados; Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of CIDCA; Kouadio Affian, Chair of IOC-AFRICA; and Sun Shuxian, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources of China.
Following the ceremony, the Vice President joined a banquet hosted by Wang Yong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
