Abdul Haseeb appointed as Member of EC

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed Abdul Haseeb Ismail as a Member of the Elections Commission.

The appointment was made in accordance with Articles 167(a) and 168(b) of the Constitution, which outline the formation and membership of the Elections Commission, as well as Article 4(a) of the Elections Commission Act.

During a ceremony held at the President’s Office this morning, Abdul Haseeb Ismail received his letter of appointment from the President. Prior to this, he took the oath of office as a member of the Elections Commission, administered by Honourable Dr Azmiralda Zahir, Justice of the Supreme Court of the Maldives.
