Dr Iruthisham Adam, the Maldives High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, presented her Letter of Credence to King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on Friday.
The King congratulated Dr Iruthisham on her new role and expressed his desire to strengthen the ties between the Maldives and the UK. Dr Iruthisham shared greetings from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and reaffirmed the Maldives’ commitment to working with the UK on shared interests.
A reception followed at St. James’ Court, London – A Taj Hotel, attended by diplomats and key figures, including the Commonwealth Secretary-General. Dr Iruthisham was accompanied by senior officials from the Maldives High Commission.
Dr Iruthisham has a distinguished career, having represented the Maldives at the UN and served as a minister, where she introduced key reforms in healthcare and sports development.
