Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that MDP will be ready to do whatever it takes to secure the rights of the people.
Speaking at a rally held by the MDP tonight in the Carnival area under the name "Qanoon Asaaseege Dhifaaugai", Solih said that the days ahead are very difficult and frightening, and if efforts are not made immediately to resolve these issues, we may face violent days again.
Solih said that this government is taking away the rights guaranteed by the constitution and that the MDP will always advocate for securing those rights. He said that the MDP will always stand with the people, for the people's rights. Solih said that they will not only be on the side of the people but will always be with the people.
Solih said that the power lies with the people and that today everyone needs to come out together against this government without backing down. He also said that then they will be forced to listen to the voice of the people.
"What we need to do today, what all of us need to do, is to come out without backing down. They will be forced to listen. They will be forced to do things the way people want. We will not back down. The power is in the hands of the people. MDP is with you people today. We are ready to do whatever it takes to secure these rights," Solih said.
He said that this government has lost the trust of the people and that the people are enduring difficult days. Solih also said that there is no citizen in this country now who is not facing a difficult situation.
