A petition has been submitted to the Parliament's Petition Committee concerning the non-payment of certain allowances to civil servants working for the Maldives Correctional Service.

During a committee meeting, Gaddhoo MP Mohamed Ali called on members to make a decision regarding the unpaid allowances. However, he did not specify the types of allowances in question.

Henveiru Uthuru MP Ahmed Aifan submitted a formal request seeking details on the matter on behalf of the affected employees. The move was supported by Madaveli MP Mohamed Shameez. Committee members approved the proposal to gather more information.

The issue will now be further investigated by the Petition Committee to address the grievances of the employees.
