The Parliament has approved the appointment of Mariam Insha Faisal to the National Integrity Commission (NIC) following the expiration of member Ahmed Jihad's term.
Her nomination, forwarded to Parliament, received approval after review by the Committee on Independent Institutions.
The NIC, currently led by President Qasim Abdul Kareem and Vice President Asiyath Shiuna, includes members Aiminath Shadia and Shuaib Abdul Rahman.
The commission is tasked with investigating misconduct by law enforcement agencies and their personnel, either through complaints or on its own initiative.
