President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured residents of K. Gaafaru that his Administration will address the island's pressing issues and deliver lasting solutions.
He made this remark during a meeting with the Island Council and Women’s Development Committee on Monday morning as part of his visit to the island.
At the meeting, council members highlighted the urgent need for a functional health centre and land reclamation to address an 18-year delay in land leases for residential purposes. Other concerns included space shortages at the island's school and challenges faced by fishermen.
The Women’s Development Committee also raised concerns about budget limitations and delays in completing the handball court.
President Muizzu, along with Cabinet Ministers accompanying him, shared updates on development projects for the island. The President reassured residents that education and healthcare would be prioritised in the upcoming year, and efforts would be made to ensure uninterrupted progress on Gaafaru's development projects.
