President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has submitted a list of nominees to the Parliament for the appointment of a member to the Board of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA). The list includes five candidates, ranked in order of the President’s preference.

The Speaker of Parliament, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, announced that the President’s letter seeking Parliament’s approval for the nomination has been forwarded to the Economic Committee for review. The candidates nominated by the President are:

  • Dhaha Shuaib
  • Ahmed Faiz Mohamed
  • Abdulla Imran
  • Mahboob Salim
  • Aiminath Aafiya

The Economic Committee will now evaluate the candidates and submit its recommendations to the Parliament for final approval. The appointment process is expected to conclude following the committee’s review and a vote in Parliament.
