The President’s Office has opened applications for the post of member of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today.

Applications will be open until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024. The President’s Office will accept applications on working days from 08:30 to 12:00, until the deadline.

Application forms will be available from the President’s Office reception and can also be downloaded from https://presidency.gov.mv.

The Vice President of ACC, Abdus Salaam, and the commission member Thoha Mohamed resigned just as the Parliament's Committee on Independent Institutions was preparing to vote on their dismissal after investigating a case related to the two officials.

  • Must be a Muslim
  • Must be a Maldivian citizen
  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Must not have been convicted of a Hadd offense in Islamic law within the past five years
  • Must not be holding an elected or appointed political position under the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives or any law
  • Must not be employed by the government or any other entity
  • Must not have been convicted of abuse of authority for undue gain, fraud, or bribery
  • Must not be serving a sentence of more than 12 months for a criminal offense, and if previously convicted of a criminal offense with a sentence of more than 12 months, at least five years must have passed since the completion of the sentence or pardon
  • Must not be a member of or active in any political party
