An agreement has been signed for the detailed design work of the project to repair Male' seawall.

The repair work of Male' seawall is being carried out under the "Disaster Resilience Enhancement in Male' Island" project, which is being implemented under the Economic and Social Development Program of the Japanese government.

The Japanese government has donated MVR 2.1 million to the Maldives for this project. The agreement for this was signed between the Maldivian government and the Japanese government last September.

The Ministry of Construction said today that the consultancy agreement for the Male' seawall repairancy agreement for the Male' seawall repair project was signed last Tuesday.

State Minister of the Ministry of Construction, Ibrahim Thaam Mohamed, signed the agreement on behalf of the Maldivian government. Chief Consultant Hiromi Namiki signed on behalf of the consultant team.

The Ministry of Construction said that under this agreement, they plan to complete the design phase by the first quarter of next year.
