A Maldivian man has been arrested in connection with a case of stabbing and robbing a foreigner in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
Police said today that a case was reported to them yesterday about a foreigner being stabbed, assaulted, and robbed of his phone on Hithigasmaagu in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
The injured foreigner was treated at the hospital and released, according to the police.
Police said that in connection with the case, they identified the person who stabbed and robbed by reviewing CCTV footage, and arrested him yesterday. He is Ibrahim Mohamed, 40, from Uthuruge, Ha. Maarandhoo.
Police said that when he was presented to the Hulhumale' Magistrate Court today for a remand hearing, the court ordered him to be held in custody until the investigation is completed.
Police are continuing to search for another person in connection with this case.
