Fenaka Corporation Limited has stated that the government and state-owned companies owe them MVR 400 million.
According to a financial status report released by Fenaka today, state-owned companies owe MVR 178 million in electricity bills, while the government owes MVR 221.7 million to the company.
Fenaka said that of this amount, MVR 47 million is owed by government agencies and companies for the past month, and MVR 178 million remains unpaid for electricity bills that are over a year old.
The report published by Fenaka states that among state-owned companies, STO (State Trading Organization) owes the largest amount to the company.
STO owes MVR 51 million. The largest amount owed by the government is from the Ministry of Construction and local councils. The report states that these two entities alone owe Fenaka MVR 100 million.
