President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the "Nasruge Dhuvahuge Sifainge Maurazu 2024" exhibition in a ceremony at the National Art Gallery this morning.
After the inauguration, President Dr Muizzu toured the exhibition, which commemorates the November 3, 1988 terrorist attack and honours the bravery of the armed forces in securing victory. With over 200 displays, this year’s exhibition aims to educate the public, especially the younger generation, about Victory Day. For the first time, it features original weapons and items used during the event, alongside photographs from that day.
The exhibition runs from November 3 to November 9 at the National Art Gallery. It is open to the public at three intervals: from 0900 - 1200hrs, from 1200 - 1800hrs, and from 2000 - 2200hrs.
The inauguration was also attended by First Lady Madam Sajida Mohamed, Vice President Uz Hussein Mohamed Latheef, senior military leaders, Cabinet ministers, and other high-ranking government officials.
This year’s Victory Day celebrations began with a congregation for Fajr prayers, followed by the President and First Lady’s attendance at a flag-raising and guard-mounting ceremony at the Victory Day Monument.
