Ahmed Shaheer has been appointed to the position of Chairman at the Maldives Tourism Development Corporation Public Limited (MTDC).

The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) announced today that Ahmed Shaheer (M. Laalubaagu) has been appointed by the company's board to serve as Chairman and as a member of the Board of Directors of MTDC.

Shaheer most recently served as the Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC). Having held that role since May last year, Shaheer was removed from the position last Thursday to facilitate his appointment as Chairman of MTDC.

Shaheer has also previously served as the Chairman of Fenaka Corporation.

Additionally, Shaheer worked at the State Trading Organization (STO) for 29 years, serving as its Managing Director from 2015 to 2018.

The most recent Chairman of the MTDC Board was Abdulla Faize. Following the end of his term and subsequent removal, Faize was appointed as the Chairperson of MIFCO on the 1st of this month.
