Elections Commission has said that they havre no plans to change the voting system to E-voting.
The talk of E-voting has arisen during the different elections managed by the Elections Commission. Three or so years ago, the Commission itself has talked about introducing E-voting in the country.
Talking on PSM last night, Member and Spokesperson of the Elections Commission, Ahmed Akram, said that there are no plans to fully change to an E-voting system however some of the tools of E-voting will be utilized in the future.
Akram said that it these tools would mostly be used in the re-registration stage and put an end to misleading people to the wrong polling stations.
He said that ICPS Symposium they are working to host in the Maldives.this July, the latest innovations in E-voting.would be showcased the Commission would study them.
