Ooredoo Maldives has celebrated International Senior Citizens' Day in collaboration with the Senior Citizens Centre.

Ooredoo today said the company had conducted a campaign with senior citizens earlier this year. Ooredoo said the event included a Grow-With-Ooredoo session, digital partnership announcements and a book donation event. Ooredoo said it was part of ooredoo's CSR responsibility.

The Grow with Ooredoo session, which was designed to plant trees on the ground, was held at the Senior Citizens Centre in collaboration with the Gender Ministry, Ooredoo said. The participants of the session learned how to build their own gardens at home and maintain the buggies in a sustainable manner. Ooredoo said the session was conducted by Ooredoo's ambassador Ramzi Hussain, known locally as Zuvaan Dhanduveriyaa.

The session not only encourages active lifestyles among older adults, but also highlights the importance of connecting with nature to promote well-being, Ooredoo said.

Ooredoo also announced a new digital partnership at senior citizens' nadi to make it easier for senior citizens to participate in the company's events. Dhiraagu said the partnership will ensure that Ooredoo's telecommunication and digital services are easily accessible to senior citizens.

In addition, books have been donated to the nadi of senior citizens so that senior citizens can enrich information during their time in the Senior Citizens Centre, Ooredoo said.

Ooredoo said the activities were part of a programme launched by Ooredoo this year to increase the participation of senior citizens in the community.
