The Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) has elected its president for a second term.
The CBM held its election yesterday, where they voted for the President and Vice President, four members, two associate members and one independent member.
Farhath Jaleel contested the election against incumbent Mohamed Faisal for the post of CBM president. Faisal got ten votes while Farhath got seven votes. Ishaag Ahmed was elected Vice President with ten votes. His opponent Ahmed Amir got seven votes.
Ismail Nashwan Nasir, Abdullah Saudan Ibrahim, Ahmed Assad Waheed and Ahmed Hussain were elected as four members of the CBM Executive Committee. Nashwan received 17 votes while the other three members received ten votes each. In addition to the four members, three others contested the posts.
Ali Thalib and Ibrahim Moosa were elected as two associate members with nine votes. Ishrath Hameedh, who contested the post, received seven votes. Ahmed Kaleem, who was elected as an independent member, received nine votes. Kaleem was the only candidate for the post.
