Athletes who made it to the fifth round of the junior men's division of the Visit Maldives Pro 2024, which is part of the Bodyboarding IBC World Tour, one of the biggest international sporting events in the Maldives, have been confirmed.

The fourth round of heats of the men's division began this morning, followed by the heats of the women's division and the heats of the junior division.

The third heats of the junior part were held today, with Brazil's Guilherme Montenegro and Australia's junior champion Jai Taylor scoring 13 points each, both of which went to the repo heats by Morocco Abdi Mohammed and Sami Laabi.

Spain's Alexandre Montes and South Africa's Hugo Naude earned a direct berth in the fifth heat during the second heat today. Montes scored 11.35 points while Naude scored 11.75 points.

In the junior third heat, Eyan Ahmed of Maldives competed and finished third with a score of 8.35. In that heat, former junior world champion and last Visit Maldives Pro junior champion Jorge Hernandez and France's Milo Lautier scored a score of 13.9.

In the final heats of the third round, Micheel Yancce, Spain's Hugo Medina and Portugal's Frederico Castelo Branco and Vincente Campos faced off with Campos earning first place with 10.45 points to Castello's 9.45 points.

Ethan Perez and Abdi Mohammed, the fourth heat in the junior part, went from one to the fifth round were Ethan Perez and Abdi Mohammed, with a score of 12.05, Abdi's score of 11.55. In the second heat of the fourth round, Maldives' Ian fought well, finished first with a score of 12.5, followed by Hugo Medina. Ian worked till the last minute to make a good score.

Namika, Luana and Pamela secured places in the Women's fifth round.

In the women's division, there were two heats of the repo round today. Japan's Namika Yamashita, Portugal's Luana Dourado, Mariana Rosa and Brazil's Nicolle Calheiros took the top spot in the heats, which was won by Namika with a score of 11.55.

In the second heats, world junior champion Luna Hardman and Maylla Venturin of Brazil and South Africa's Pamela Boren and Japan's Kaira Shirahase, who topped the event, finished first with a score of 10.55, while Luna confirmed the next round with a score of 10.5.

A total of 86 athletes from 14 countries are competing in this year's event.
