The total state revenue collected by Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has increased along with the dollar revenue in the year's second quarter.

According to the figures released by MIRA, the total revenue received in the second quarter of this year stood at MVR 5.8 billion.

That was a 12.6 percent increase from the second quarter of last year. However, this was a 10.7 percent decline from the previous forecast for the second quarter of this year.

According to their financial statements, the company received USD 236 million in dollars in the second quarter of this year. That was 62 percent of total revenue during the period.

The increase in dollar revenue was due to a 5.2 percent increase in tourist arrivals compared to the second quarter of last year.

TGST revenue increased by USD 23 million while tourism land rent revenue increased by USD 4.52 million.
