President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has stated that the government will raise per capita income to USD 17,000 by the end of its five-year term.
Speaking at the 59th Independence Day celebrations held at the Social Center last night, the President said the per capita income was USD 13,000 when he took office.
“Hopefully, I can say with absolute certainty that by 2028 it will increase to $17,000,” he said.
The President said the government will work to ensure economic sovereignty, strengthen the economy, enrich the country and enrich individuals without printing money.
In addition, many efforts are being made to expand the fishing industry and the efforts are being made to strengthen the economy of the country, he said.
