The Home Ministry has announced the names of 1,026 companies that have been fined more than MVR 100,000 for not paying foreign worker permits and quota fees.
This is the first time the names of companies who have not paid the fees have been made public.
The list released by the Home Ministry includes the country’s largest construction companies. There are also other companies that are doing business in a wide range of areas.
Of the 1,026 companies named, 123 owe more than a million to the state. Some other companies owe more than MVR 26 million.
