MIFCO has released MVR 2 million in payments to fishermen.

MIFCO's Deputy Manager, Public Relations and Media Ibrahim Saeed, in a message to the media on Monday, said the MVR 2 million was for 125 tonnes of fish procured between 28 June and 11 July.

Saeed added that the current backlog stands at MVR 319,632.

MIFCO's last payment to the fishermen was on 1 June 2024 amounting to MVR 53 million.

The company has been procuring fish at global market price since 1 June this year.
