The application process for IVF and IUI through the Government-funded Aasandha Scheme is open until the end of this month, NSPA has said.

The government is working to provide 'IUI' and 'IVF' treatment through Aasandha.

On March 15, the state government opened applications for assistance in conducting IVF and IUI.

The deadline for submission of forms and documents has been extended till July 31 for those who have not completed their papers and are willing to apply for new assistance.

As promised by the government, this year, only 100 couples with the highest score among the eligible beneficiaries will be given assistance for IVF treatment. Of those who applied for the first round, only 37 met the eligibility criteria for IVF treatment through Aasandha.

The Ministry of Social and Family Development, in its collaboration with NSPA, has put in place a set of guidelines for providing 'IUI' and 'IVF' treatment through Aasandha.

According to NSPA, 153 applicants had applied for help when the application process for IVF and IUI through the Aasandha scheme expired on May 15. Of these, 37 patients who met the prescribed criteria will be informed about sharing their plan of treatment before May 30.

The government is working to provide services to those facing fertility problems by adopting policies that are critical to ensuring family well-being, NSPA said.

Of these, two patients who underwent IVF treatment at Tree Top Hospital gave birth on May 15 this year. They were the first two children in the country to undergo IVF.
