Parliament has scheduled a session for Sunday to speed up the work on the Government's proposed debt Bill.
Although the Parliament usually holds sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but the first session of the week has been scheduled for Sunday.
According to the agenda, Sunday's session will have three main issues: the preliminary debate on the state debt bill and the approval of the Samoa Agreement, which was examined by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and decided on the report.
In addition, the Foreign Relations Committee will review and submit a report on the President's appointment of the Maldives' ambassador to Turkey and the appointment of ambassador to Pakistan in place of the ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
The debt bill is one of the 37 bills that the government plans to introduce in the current session of parliament.
The Foreign Relations Committee's report on the issue of parliament's approval of the signing of the Samoa agreement said that it appears to approve the signing of the Samoa agreement with a government-mandated reservation.
The issue of parliament's approval for the signing of the Samoa Agreement was referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations for review at a meeting held on Wednesday. The matter was decided by the committee the same day and the committee's report was sent to the Parliament.
