A traffic collision has taken place on the Sinamale’ Bridge highway destroying the dividers on the road.

Hulhumale’ Hospital said that the no one has been brought in following a traffic collision on the bridge highway. And since the media official of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) is not answering their phone, there have been no confirmation.

Maldives Police Service said that a traffic collision has been reported however there is no information available at this time.

A person at the scene of the incident told One Online that the dividers were struck by a van around 10 a.m. this morning. The incident took place towards the end of the highway at Hulhumale’.

When One Online Journalists arrived at the scene, Traffic Police were at the scene and the suspected vehicle involved in the collision was at the scene with heavy damage to its front. There was also a car at the scene with what appears to be a police cone under its front bumper.

In previous traffic collisions on the Bridge and Highway, parts of the road had been damaged and none of damage parts were mended either. Some have criticized that the dividers being used are not the most efficient for a highway.
