Indian airline Go Air has been ordered by the Civil Court to pay USD 3.6 million to Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
The case is a civil suit filed by MIRA against Go Air seeking to recover the total amount of airport service charge, departure tax and airport development fee payable by Go Air to MIRA from April 2022 to March 2023.
The Civil Court on Monday ordered the company to pay USD 3,580,588 to MIRA within one month from the date of the verdict. The court ruled in the absence of Go Air.
The court previously tried to serve a summons to the airline on the address of its former office to attend the hearings in the Civil Court but the summons could not be served. The airline is no longer operating in the Maldives.
