Maldivian Hajj pilgrims will start departing for the holy pilgrimage starting tomorrow.
While a 1,000 pilgrims are going to attend the pilgrimage this year, ten members of the advance team and a member of the Hajj Mission has already left for Saudi Arabia.
The Hajj Mission said 298 people will leave for Hajj tomorrow. Another 353 will leave on Monday and 339 in the last group on the 7th of next month.
Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs Ali Ahsan told One Online today that the Maldives is expected to get more quota for the Hajj and it will be known this week.
The Hajj Mission, which was formed to formally manage the arrangements for the pilgrims, consists of seven persons. In addition, a total of nine people, including a doctor and the ministry's media, went to Saudi Arabia as members of the Hajj mission.
