Civil Service Commission (CSC) President Mohamed Nasih has expressed concern over the lack of qualified workers to work due to low wages.

In a statement issued on the occasion of Labour Day, Nasih said that employees in many sectors of the civil services are yet to get a hike in their salaries. He pointed out that since wage parity was not in place, the civil services needed to find it difficult to get qualified manpower.

"It is important to note that every day spent without wage parity is a day when such employees like this, who are already in service, have to deal with the shortage of qualified people in the civil services," he said.

Nasih urged the government to ensure wage equality among employees.

In his statement, he pointed out that while salaries have not been hiked in some sectors, there has been an increase in salaries for education and health sectors.

Nasih said special priority should be given to provide services mentioned in the service charter of each government agency at the level, level and time-bound period.

Nasih also urged the public to adhere to the civil service laws, regulations and school standards and take care to make the civil service acceptable and trusted by the people.
