President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has decided that the record of those who have not received the State Service Award after more than forty-three years of service will be obtained from the President's Office and sent to the National Awards Committee.
Last year, awards were given to those who have served the state for more than 45 years.
The President's Office said today that the President has decided to send details of the criminal records, debt records, jobs performed and performance of those who have resigned from public service and those who remain in public service to the Awards Committee.
Last year, awards were given to those who have served the state for more than 45 years.
The President made the arrangement to address the difficulties faced by many who have retired after long service to the state, to access their personal records and to gather information as some of the institutions they served at the time have been abolished.
Following the President's decision, they will not have to submit their nominations for the Award.
The Award will be presented this year at an official ceremony to be held on the occasion of Independence Day.
