Telecom giant, Dhiraagu has extended their support to this year’s vocational training program of Care Society that advocates for the rights of people with disabilities.
The Care Society Vocational Training Program was established in 2018 and is conducted annually by the Care Society Vocational Training Unit, which aims to teach young people with various disabilities various skills and empower them to increase their participation in society. The primary purpose of the program is to establish a self-sustaining and empowered community of young adults, enabling them to thrive independently, regardless of their disabilities.
This year's program focuses on developing computer skills, cooking, and arts and crafts skills. There are currently 27 students enrolled in this year’s program, according to the Care Society.
Dhiraagu said empowering youth and people with disabilities is a key objective of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. The Care Society is providing special teachers and teaching materials for the vocational training program this year.
Since the establishment of the Care Society's Vocational Training Unit, Dhiraagu has been supporting the association's vocational training program.
