President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has pledged to set up a dormitory and university campus in N. Holhudhoo.
Speaking to the people of Hulhudhoo island this evening as part of the President's visit to the islands of N. Atoll, the President said that Hulhudhoo is a prestigious island in the education system and the Meyna School in the island has also been doing a great job in providing education services for the last 75 years.
"It would be my privilege to extend the role of education in this island to meet your aspirations. We will set up a dormitory and a university campus in this island for higher education opportunities," he said.
The President noted that there are working days ahead and to make them a reality. He added that although the efforts have commenced in Holhudhoo, there was still much to be done.
"The water network project has been stalled for a while. The road construction project needs revision and there are changes the citizens want in the harbour project as well. I believe that these changes are being requested with a long-term vision from the citizens," President Dr. Muizzu said.
The President further stated that the harbour would be developed as requested by the Council with necessary modifications and if there is a need for more reclaimed land, it would also be reclaimed.
