Main opposition MDP has discussed holding extraordinary sessions to approve the ministers and the changes to be made to the law to hold the parliamentary elections after the month of Ramadan.
Hulhumale' MP Ali Niyaz told One Online that the MDP Parliamentary Group meeting yesterday discussed holding extraordinary sessions. They discussed holding an extraordinary session to bring the necessary amendments to the law to postpone the parliamentary elections after Ramadan.

Ihavandhoo MP Mohammed Shifau has moved to amend the General Elections Act to include a provision to prevent any elections from being held during the month of Ramadan.
