A total of 13 applicants have completed Dhiraagu's Apprenticeship programme.
Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihsan handed over the certificates to 13 individuals who completed the Apprenticeship programme. The certificate distribution ceremony was attended by members of Dhiraagu's board and management as well as heads of educational institutions.
Dhiraagu also welcomed the 14th batch of Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Program along with 21 participants at the certificate distribution ceremony. Dhiraagu said that a structured training program, soft skills development training, and a wide range of businesses in Dhiraagu will allow apprentices to work in a number of key business areas of Dhiraagu. Dhiraagu said it would be able to work at regional operations centres.
Minister Ali Ihsan said that Dhiraagu is the leading company in the field of national social responsibility among Maldivian companies and the apprenticeship program provides important avenues for the development and skill development of Maldivian youth.
Dhiraag CEO and Managing Director Ismail Rasheed said that creating opportunities for youth empowerment and growth is one of the main goals of Dhiraagu's CSR programme. Dhiraagu's apprenticeship programme will support the idea of creating an inclusive and sustainable 'digital country'.
According to Dhiraagu, most of the students who complete the apprenticeship program are now employed in responsible jobs in various companies across the country, including Dhiraagu, which reflects the success of the Dhiraagu apprenticeship program.
Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Programme is the first such corporate apprenticeship programme to be launched extensively in the Maldives. Dhiraagu Apprenticeship Program focuses on developing the employment skills of the youth of the country and since 2009, 268 youth have participated in the programme.
