Aasandha has begun annual medical checkup services.

Speaking during a press conference to announce the roll-out of the services, NSPA CEO Heena Waleed revealed that the medical checkup services will become available to different age groups at different times of the year. As such, the service is now available for those above the age of 50.

Timeline of medical checkup services:

- Patients above 50 years of age: 1st of January 2024

- Patients between 35 and 49 years of age: 1st of April 2024

- Patients under 19 years of age: 1st of April 2024

- Patients between 19 and 34 years of age: 1st of July 2024

Heena said she would continue to look into improvements as the service progresses. If a change is needed, it will be made, she said.

Medical checkup services are available from all parts of the country and people can register at island health centres, and provincial and regional hospitals. Once you register, the hospital will notify you of the date of the check-up.

Aasandha Managing Director Aiminath Zeeniya said today that the medical check-up will be done in packages. The medical checkup includes blood, urine, stool tests and ECG and will not include X-rays.
