The highest amount of rainfall was recorded in Hulhule' yesterday, according to Maldives Meteorology (MET).
A MET Office spokesperson told One Online today that the highest rainfall recorded in Hulhule' previously was 175 millimetres.
However, 179.7 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in Hulhule' from 8 am yesterday to 8 am today, the official said.
According to the MET, the second-highest rainfall was recorded in Male' City yesterday. The city recorded 118.2 million milliliters of rainfall yesterday.
Heavy rains yesterday caused flooding in Male' and Hulhumale' as well. Flight operations at Maldives' main airport, Velana International Airport, were disrupted and some flights were diverted and canceled.
