Vice President of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Muaviz Rasheed, has said that ACC investigation has shown that the state is owed MVR 3.5 billion.
Speaking at the National Anti-Corruption Day function, Muaviz said that a strong system is needed to recover the state assets lost due to corruption. He said that a transparent structure in government institutes are needed to keep it free of corruption.
He said that it won’t be easy to save the country from the claws of corruption and finding, preventing and taking action against corruption is a challenge every country has to face.
Muaviz said that the most important thing to prevent corruption is for state institutes to gain public trust. And so the institutes need to be shaped with integrity, honesty and transparency.
