The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an investigation at the Housing Ministry as part of its probe into the allotment of points to those who got flats under the government's housing scheme.
Housing Ministry released the permanent list of recipients under the home scheme on Saturday.
ACC said the commission has received multiple complaints since yesterday, alleging that the list of flat recipients was made public in violation of the norms of awarding points and to give undue benefit to a particular group of people.
A quick response team of the commission is now working at the Housing Ministry as part of its investigation into the case, ACC said in a statement.
ACC had yesterday directed the Housing Ministry not to take up all the works related to signing the agreement and handing over of flats under the housing scheme without giving adequate time to file a complaint against the manner in which points were awarded.
Disheartened citizens protested at Housing Ministry on Sunday, criticising the way points were awarded to the recipients. They demanded disclosure of how the points were awarded and some even demanded that the points be re-awarded after the list was cancelled.
Minister of State for Housing and Chairman of the Home Affairs Committee, Akram Kamaluddin said that if there is any complaint about the list, applicants can make complaints through the efaas portal. He added that points were awarded based on the information provided in the forms.
